WHO CAN MAKE A
CLAIM?
The victims of
accidents who were not to blame for the accident. For example:
Road

i)
Passengers;
ii)
Innocent drivers;
iii)
Pedestrians.
Remember even if you were not insured to
drive at the time of your accident; if you were not to blame a claim can still
succeed.
Accident
at work
i)
Employees;
ii)
Self-employed.
Remember a claim can still be made even
if you are injured away from your employer’s premises.
Slipping
and tripping accidents
i)
Pedestrians;
ii)
Cyclists.
Remember that you can still claim on
privately owned property.
Following
negligent medical treatment
i)
Patients;
ii)
Unborn children.
Remember that consent must be given for
certain medical treatment and without this claims can be made.
REMEMBER THAT if you were party to blame
for an accident a claim can still be made and you can still win.
Victims
of Assault
Remember that if you are the victim of an
assault and you sustain personal injuries a claim can be made for an award from
the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority, which can include in the more
serious cases a claim for loss of savings and the cost of care. A claim can succeed whether or not the
attacker is identified and prosecuted.
